THE CENTER FOR CHRISTIAN-JEWISH DIALOGUE (CCJD), the largest interfaith organization in the Pikes Peak region, was founded in 1995 to address misunderstandings between Christians and Jews and to facilitate relationships between members of these ancient faiths. It is an organization characterized by dialogue, not debate. It provides a program for learning how to speak to each other, not about each other.
The CCJD affirms beliefs commonly held by Christians and Jews, encourages meaningful dialogue, promotes understanding and fosters mutual respect for each other’s faith, culture and history.
CCJD provides opportunities, both public and private, for interfaith enrichment and works to eliminate conflict and distrust. Those who support the work of CCJD represent a wide religious and political spectrum and come from the private, public and non-profit sectors of the community.
While it is often said that mutual engagement will help us to appreciate how much we have in common, CCJD believes that our differences, experiences, world view and values may foster an even greater appreciation of why the wisdom of both faith traditions is needed as a witness to the possibility of peace between all peoples.
CCJD is recognized nationally as a reliable source for Christian-Jewish communication and accurate information about shared commonalities and sacred differences in our respective traditions. It is a member of The Center for Christian-Jewish Relations (CCJR), an international group of like minded organizations and has been honored as a Finalist in the El Pomar Foundation’s Awards for Excellence Program.
